The book was made during eight trips to Singapore from 2016-2023. I passed through Singapore for the first time on my way to interviewing my uncle Stan in Australia in 2013. One of the he first things he told me when I interviewed him was that he was captured and placed in a Japanese P.O.W. camp in Changi. I became curious about Singapore and its history enjoying my trips there. Singapore is an island, a capital and a country. Its history is much older than what is generally know about it being a former British colony and goes back to records in the 11th century.
